STEBBINS HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN GOLD AUTOCLAVE PROJECTS.

STEBBINS pressure vessel experience with hydrometallurgical processes dates back to the early 1940 s. Companies such as Freeport Minerals, FMG Minerals, Homestake, Barrick Goldstrike, Kerr McGee, Placer Dome and INCO are among those who have chosen STEBBINS Technology. Use STEBBINS, with its 100+ years of experience, to handle corrosion/chemical attack and/or abrasion problems. STEBBINS handles problems based on impervious membranes and chemical/abrasion resistant brick linings for:
  • Autoclaves
  • Pre-heat and Flash Tanks
  • Leach Tanks
  • Acid Plant Equipment
  • Acidulation and Neutralization Tanks
  • Thickeners
  • Floor/Trench Linings

AMAX
METALS RECOVERY, INC.
 Braithwaite, Louisiana

STEBBINS autoclave lining technology was chosen to retrofit a Reactor Vessel in a metal recovery process.
When the plant was constructed in 1959, STEBBINS lined this and other vessels for nickel processing. The vessels were operating successfully until the mid-1980s when AMAX changed their process from metal to spent catalyst recovery.
One of the lined Reactor Vessels was converted to extremely severe leaching conditions of 20% H2SO4 at 460°F.
A standard acid brick lining, supplied by others, soon failed. The STEBBINS lining has performed exceptionally well since its installation in 1991.

    HUDSON BAY MINING
      & SMELTING CO., LIMITED
        Flin Flon, Manitoba

The new zinc plant for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting s operation in Flin Flon, Manitoba required three Pressure Oxidation Autoclaves, using Sherritt Inc. s pressure leach technology. Fluor Daniel Wright contracted CANADIAN STEBBINS to supply and install engineered brick and membrane linings for the three autoclaves in the photo. CANADIAN STEBBINS premium linings were chosen to aid in the reliable operation of the autoclaves, which process 100% of the zinc output. The brick and membrane lining installation was completed ahead of schedule.
